MUSEUM OF CORK – CALANGIANUS

Calangianus is a small town that has become one of the “100 municipalities of the great little Italy ” (the ranking of the 100 most industrialized areas of Italy) and it is considered the capital of the cork. The manufacturing cork process is activity that has its origin at the begin of the XIX century and it soon became a huge source of sustainable wealth, which employs a large proportion of the local population. The cork has been preserved over the centuries, but at the same time it continues to evolve through new studies and new technologies. In the Cork Museum you can both admire the antique machinery and tools of the trade, but also learn about the extraction and manufacturing processes of this precious material.


ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM “MEOC” – AGGIUS

The museum is interesting for its rich collection of antique furniture and objects of daily use and offers a journey through the activities of the domestic economy, food production and the ancient crafts; it also houses the “Permanent Exhibition of Aggius Carpet”, where you can see the demonstration of the ancient art of carpet weaving with wooden frames.


BANDITRY MUSEUM – AGGIUS

Via Pretura. Opening hours: 10.00 – 13.00 ; 15.00 – 18.00

Aggius and the surrounding area was for three centuries (from 1500 to the mid-1800s) the scene of thefts, ambushes and brutal crimes committed by hordes of smugglers and cattle rustler. All this is well told in the novel written by Enrico Costa, “Il muto di Gallura” (The dumb of Gallura”): it talks about the terrible family feuds in Gallura region. In the Banditry Museum it is possible to know something about this story and you can admire a lot of valuable documents and objects.


ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM “GALLURAS” – LURAS

In this interesting museum located in a granite building of the XVIII century it has been carefully reconstructed the typical house of Gallura region, with the exhibition of 5,000 artefacts dating from the end of 1400 to the first half of 1900. The oldest and most prized object of this collection is undoubtedly the hammer of “Femina agabbadora” the oldest tool for euthanasia.

ISOLA ROSSA

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio, turn left to Tempio Pausania: Then by following the sign to Sassari on the SP 672 and after few meters turn right on SP27 on direction Aggius. Take the panoramic road and at the junction turn to Trinità d’Agultu on SP74. From Trinità d’Agultu continue straight on the SP39 for another 5 km. Driving time: 1 our.


LI COSSI – COSTA PARADISO

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left to Tempio Pausania, then by following the sign to Sassari on the SP 672 and after few meters turn right on SP27 on direction Aggius. Take the panoramic road and at the junction turn to Trinità d’Agultu on SP74. From Trinità d’Agultu continue until to a large crossroads and turn right and taking the SP90 towards Santa Teresa. After about 15 km turn left to Costa Paradiso and continuing the sea, a panoramic path on the left of the rocks leads the beach in about 15 minutes. Driving time: 1 hour 15 minutes.


VIGNOLA MARE

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left to Tempio Pausania . Then, take the direction to Palau on SS 133 and fter about 15 km turn left and take the SP5 to Aglientu. After 25 km at the crossroad go straight on to Vignola Mare. Driving time: 1 hour.


CAPO TESTA – SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left to Tempio Pausania . Then, take the direction to Palau on SS 133 and fter about 15 km turn left and take the SP5 to Aglientu. After 25 km at the crossroadturn right on SP90 to Santa teresa di Gallura. Once arrived in Santa Teresa, at the traffic light turn left on direction to Capo Testa. Driving time: 1 hour 15 minutes


RENA BIANCA – SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left to Tempio Pausania . Then, take the direction to Palau on SS 133 and fter about 15 km turn left and take the SP5 to Aglientu. After 25 km at the crossroadturn right on SP90 to Santa teresa di Gallura. Once arrived in Santa Teresa, go straigh ton to the main square of the town and then turn right throug the town street until you reach the beach.


CAPRICCIOLI

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left and after few meters turn right by following the sign to Olbia. At the end of the industrial zone, turn right on direction to Olbia on the SP136 and then at the roundabout take the direction to Sant’Antonio di Gallura and then to Arzachena. Once arrived in the town, follow the sign to the beaches Costa Smeralda. Driving time: 1 hour 15 minutes


LA PELOSA – STINTINO

How to reach it: from the crossroads at the sign “San Bachisio”, turn left to Tempio Pausania, then by following the sign to Sassari on the SP 672. Once arrived near Sassari, take the E25 on direction to Porto Torres /Alghero and turn on direction to Stintino. Driving time: 1 hour 40 minutes. E25 on direction to Porto Torres/Alghero.
